Our client, a global management consulting firm operating across a wide range of practice areas, including strategy and operations, capital projects and digital transformation, approached us to assist them in building a talent pool of Principal-level candidates in the South African Market.

They wanted us to add real value to their business, based on our in-depth knowledge of the Management Consulting industry and this specific role within their organisation. Our brief was to develop a consolidated view of the size and composition of the relevant, Principal-level candidate pool in South Africa, including candidates already known to them.
Challenge and Outcomes
As a next step, we set to work to build a picture of the details and career histories of approximately 100 candidates. We included their employment value drivers, career status, personal timelines and remuneration structures, which gave real insight into the tailored enticement approach and hiring strategies which could be used for each candidate. In the process of engaging with the candidates, we had an opportunity to share our client’s EVP, while also de-bunking certain myths about what working at a Principal level really looked like within this business.
As a real value-add, our comprehensive research process delivered deep insight into the overall market, as well as brand perception of our client, which we were able feedback to the Leadership team.
